Ingredients

Rub

  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic salt
  • ¼ teaspoon cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ Tablespoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon dry mustard

Beef

  • 3-4 pounds beef brisket fat trimmed off
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 18 ounces BBQ sauce I used Sweet Baby Rays Honey BBQ Sauce

Instructions

  • Add the rub ingredients to a bowl and mix to combine.
  • Next, add the beef brisket to the slow cooker and pour the rub on top. Rub it into the beef all over. (If you have time you can add the rub 24 hours before and let it marinate in the refrigerator).
  • Pour the apple cider vinegar over the beef.
  • Add the BBQ sauce and spread it on the beef. Place the lid on top and cook on the low temperature setting for 10 hours.
  • Slice the brisket across the grain and serve.
